How to Batch Your Content in Just 2 Hours a Week (Yes, Really)
May 05, 2025
Running a small business is no joke.
We all know it. Just because you're busy doesn't mean you have to give up your presence online.
Batching your content is one of the most effective ways to stay consistent online without being glued to your phone 24/7.
Why Batching Works for Makers
✔️ Frees up your mental space so you can focus on actually making things
✔️ Prevents last-minute panic posting
✔️ Keeps your branding and message consistent
✔️ Helps you plan around promos, holidays, or launches
-
One hour of uninterrupted time
-
Your phone or camera
-
A simple content calendar (even better if it’s tailored to makers... wink)
-
A folder of product photos or behind-the-scenes clips
🕐 Hour 1 – Plan & Write
-
Choose 3 post themes (ex: a product feature, a behind-the-scenes moment, a testimonial)
-
Use content prompts (like the ones inside My Social Companion) to write captions in your own voice
-
Brainstorm 1 short email or story to repurpose from your content (you can reuse this on your blog or newsletter!)
🕑 Hour 2 – Create & Schedule
-
Record 2–3 short-form videos (try behind-the-scenes packaging, product demos, or time-lapse clips)
-
Use Canva, InShot, or CapCut to trim/edit
-
Upload everything into a scheduler so you can walk away and let it run for you
The Best Free Scheduling Tools by Platform
Instagram & Facebook
Use Meta Business Suite (totally free!) to schedule Reels, Carousels, or static posts for both platforms. You’ll need to convert to a business or creator account—but it’s worth it for the insights and automation.
Pinterest
Pinterest has a built-in native scheduler (no extra software needed!). You can schedule Pins up to 2 weeks in advance directly in the platform.
LinkedIn
On desktop, LinkedIn now has a built-in scheduling tool. You’ll see a little clock icon when writing a post—click it to schedule.
TikTok
TikTok’s desktop site lets you schedule up to 10 days in advance. Head to TikTok.com/upload and select your video, then set your post date/time. (This only works on desktop.)
Pro tip: You don’t need to be on every platform. Pick 1–2 that fit your audience and build from there.
That’s exactly what we do inside My Social Companion.
